About Me

We, Jan & Doug, are officially gypsies now. We have sold our house, dock & cars. We have moved aboard Day Dreams and will follow the sun and warmth. No more northern winters for us. Doug retired from his wonderful job in April after working for the same great company for 35 years. We will keep you posted on our location so our friends & family can come find us along the way. We would love to see you, please visit often. June 1, 2014

Oct/Nov 2018 Jacksonville, FL

When we returned back to The Landings at Ortega Marina Doug got to work; he replaced all of our sanitation system & did a great job & it wasn't easy. It smells so good now!

We also took time to explore more of Jacksonville. We found an eclectic movie theater in the 5 Points district. We watched Bohemian Rhapsody & A Star is Born there, both fabulous movies. I got my haircut again and liked it better this time but it's pricey to keep my hair short.

We attended our first NFL game, watched the Jacksonville Jaguars play Houston at the TIAA Bank Stadium along the St John River. Too bad they lost.

Doug was bitten by an ant out in the grass parking lot where the RV was parked.  His 2 bites on his foot-blistered and grew to grape size with his ankle & foot swelling.  The bites took a month to go away.  Doug saw a dermatologist for an annual screening while the bites were at their peak and the Dr. said do not break the blister & just wait it out. Doug also saw the optometrist across the street from the Marina-Dr Paul Fuhlgrim, we had met him at Lamb's because her had the boat, Betsea Lynn docked next to us.  Doug got new good looking new glasses.

We took Day Dreams out and anchored in front of NAS for the Air Show.  Another beautiful day for a great show! We reconnected with some of our Ortega friends: Bette, Al, John, Lena & Larry going to Moon River Pizza and biking with the gals. Then we reconnected with Karen & Terry from Lamb's. We also drove the RV to see Jill & Glenn in Flagler. We stayed overnight and enjoyed a great dinner & good conversation.
Happy Halloween

Two Krogens pulled in to the Marina so we visited & dined with Acadia: Diane & Tim, Last Mistake: Vicki & Bob. Waterford pulled in and we had a few days with them.

For Thanksgiving, Wendi, Tadd & Sam hosted my brothers, sis-in-laws and us for a nice dinner. We borrowed Hobo's car and took the RV to Cube Smart for storage.
