About Me

My photo
We, Jan & Doug, are officially gypsies now. We have sold our house, dock & cars. We have moved aboard Day Dreams and will follow the sun and warmth. No more northern winters for us. Doug retired from his wonderful job in April after working for the same great company for 35 years. We will keep you posted on our location so our friends & family can come find us along the way. We would love to see you, please visit often. June 1, 2014

Almost ready!

May 21, 2014
I am sitting here in the pilot house in our home & on our boat, Day Dreams. Our friends have been saying we are homeless but we very much have a home just not a HOUSE!  I have to be honest, thoughts have crossed through my mind like; "what have we done?" Those thoughts are quickly replaced with, "but look at what we will be doing"! We have been tying up loose ends; like multiple Physician appointments.  Doug & I have been to more doctors in the last couple months than we've seen all our lives. We are healthy; we are just trying to have everything in good working order & prevention is the best medicine, don't you know. A Thank You goes out to our Docs, who have been so gracious to help us prepare.

Our Moving Sale was a huge success.  Thank you to those friends that helped us & to those who now have pieces of us in their homes.  I hope those pieces bring you joy as they did for us.  Talk about simplifying your life; Oprah would love us! We only own our boat & the contents within.

Over the last 6 months, we have been attempting to visit with all our friends one last time. The down side to this big adventure is leaving all of our wonderful friends.  We know we are lucky to have you! The truth is; we are not saying Good-bye because we are expecting to see all of you along the way. I will be keeping everyone posted as to our location and travel plans.  We never will be able to give you an exact date of where we will be on any given day in the future.  The weather is too unpredictable! We all know that the long range forecasts are not accurate enough to count on.  The most dangerous thing we can do is have a deadline to get somewhere & push on when the weather is bad.  Be Flexible will be our motto!! We do have a plan of our route for the next 6 months, just not when we will be where.  We cherish the time we spend with our friends. Just wish I would remember to take more pictures, so if any of you have pics from our recent visits, please send me copies.  :)
