About Me

My photo
We, Jan & Doug, are officially gypsies now. We have sold our house, dock & cars. We have moved aboard Day Dreams and will follow the sun and warmth. No more northern winters for us. Doug retired from his wonderful job in April after working for the same great company for 35 years. We will keep you posted on our location so our friends & family can come find us along the way. We would love to see you, please visit often. June 1, 2014

Sea Dweller passing us on the Ortega River

Erben Renewal
Plane to Sea
On Oct 1, we moved Day Dreams up the Ortega River from Lamb's to The Marina @ Ortega Landings. This marina is one of our favorite.  It did sustain some damage from flooding during Irma, hence they were in construction mode the entire 2 months we stayed. It's always fun to see some of our friends we have met here over the years. We rode bikes, went out to dinner with friends and attended a tour of community farms with Betty & Al.

We actually took Day Dreams to the St John's River, anchored along with Betty & Al on Plane to Sea and Steve & Julia on Erben Renewal for the Air Show. The airshow was on the NAS grounds & we watched the practice session & then the official day. The weather was beautiful with deep blue skies so the jets, planes, parachuters and the Blue Angels all were visible right over our heads! While anchored, Betty & Al and John from Sojourn took us to their Florida Yacht Club for a beautiful waterside dinner.

Dinner dates were with Evelyn & Bill on Satori, Jeff & Ellen on Sea Dweller, Walter & Jeanette on Mele Kai, Chuck & Susan on Blue Moon.  I was fortunate to travel to Vegas with 2 former colleagues: Michelle & Janet. We had lots of fun, saw Elton John and lost a bit of money.

Spoons Tradition!
For Thanksgiving, Wendi & family hosted dinner and we were surprised by a visit from Bob, Tim and his son Kaiden. They joined Bob & Karen and Tom & Rita to make for a memorable holiday. We drove the RV to visit Glen & Jill in Flagler for an overnight visit which is always so fun & delicious.

In between all our socializing & relaxing, Doug worked on the boat, replaced a few parts and I cleaned.
